going for a walk

| | Comments (1)

Being unemployed gives you lots of free time. I have several projects I am working on, but I still have time. So, this bright sunny morning, I am going for a walk from Potrero Hill to the pier to see the bay. Too bad I don't have GPS so you can track my wandering...Especially since I'll prbably get lost and it would be rather funny for you to watch me try and get home.

Kai

I used to work with Esther before I moved to Tokyo. As far as I remember, she always said she could never be bothered with babies. Well, she gave birth to a beautiful baby boy 5 weeks ago named Kai, and she's loving momhood! (I posted pics from her baby shower a while ago). Man, I am surrounded by little ones lately.

And nokia there. At home with several friends and 2 have the same phone as mine. Well, it's that kind of group...Meaning they are into phone cams and computers and such. I can't wait for all others to show up and we're all moblogging like it's second nature...OK, that could be scary...But I do want fellow pals...Hey, you Tokyo bloggers, I miss you! PS: bonus pic of Kats happy at home.

Slept a bit while Kimi and Richard went back to the hospital to get her long awaited epidural. Now a bunch of us are here, ready to help. We can hear the baby's heartbeat through the monitor!

Well, the hospital gave Kimi the option of walking around there for an hour or going home to wait some more...She opted for the latter so we are at home now to rest. I think I'll lay down to rest a bit too...

My friend from H.S. is having her 3rd baby. She has been having contractions for days and I've been hanging out helping to prep the house and take care of the kids. Finally things are progressing and we're heading to the hospital. I am slated to be in the delivery room so I am quite excited!

Having sushi at Country Station in the Mission. Good to be back. But I didn't tell you about how my cats had a hissy fit while I was gone...Most likely the 'accidents' left around the house were by Katsuo (the brother) but let's just say that I got some steam cleaning to do. I frantically had to hire a pro cat sitter to baby them after my poor housemates called to say the cats were clearly unhappy inspite their efforts. I still love 'em and it sure is nice to be with them. Actually, I am waiting at a table here while Dav is trying to park...

Visiting my uncle David and aunt Ollie and grandmother Laura. David has a boat and he took us for a spin. Quite pretty and the speed boat was fun!

This was from a few days ago at Willmington, NC, a nice coastal town. We went to visit Dav's good friend Todd. At a bar, I spotted some smart looking Navy cadets. The beach was beautiful.

They had an exibition on the Titanic. Really cool but I couldn't take many pics except for recovered passenger items (where no staff lurked). But got tons of bizarre animal and dino ones from the more open and interactive sections. It was fun!

Yep. I am in a bar on 9th street near Duke called Peek-a-boo. Hanging out 'til Dav finishes work. Having wine and reading The Bitch In The House edited by Cathi Hamauer (I recommend it). I am loving this hang out time with myself...But can't wait to see Dav too.

Jen and I went to high school together in Tokyo. We played field hockey together. But I haven't hung out with her since graduation! Found out she lives in Raleigh and got to see her and her cute dog Jackson. I love catching up and swapping life experiences. It is so cool to be able to pick right up where we left off.
