Scenes from Tokyo

I took these pics with my Nokia phone while in Japan. The phone doesn't work over there, but I carried it around and turned it on every once in a while to take these.

Here, you see

  • Barak and Mena during Karoke. They really got into it! And although the pic I took of one of the song titles looks like I just cut it off, it really did say "When I'm Sixty-Fou"!

  • The biggest oyster I've ever seen. From when my mom took me out to good sushi.

  • I found a magazine on design and furniture named Kokochino. Kokochi with an Italian spin. The subtitle translates roughly to "For those who want to live comfortably."

  • A nice bowl of ramen after a long night out. It's fast-food, but good fast food. I sat and watched the 2 cooks put out more than 20 bowls, each individually made to order with slight variations, over a span of 15 minutes or so. Their movements were so in synch that it was like they were dancing together. And they switched roles effortlessly from the noodle maker, soup maker, stir-fryer, etc.

  • It's hard to see here, but upscale clothes shop sign says, "No Concept But Good Sense." Sounds good to me.

    Anything in Tokyo to rival?? Ah...Tokyo really is light years ahead. I drooled in the phone shops. We aren't talking about face plates. We're talking about the whole design. Colors, features, capabilities. Even Panda Love can't compare...
