Puppy Love x 2

Toni has 2 new family members...2 lovely puppies from her sister. It's rare that you can have access to brand new puppies. I couldn't resist and spent some time petting to my satisfaction. Babies, of any species, are just so cute! I felt like I was betraying my kitties to be in puppy-dom. I came home and hugged my little ones!

After brunch with 6Aparters...

Muscle arm

Me holding up a whole bike with one arm! A rare sight indeed. Well, it's Randy's super light, super pro bicycle...

At 12 Galaxies. Last time I saw them was at Hotel Utah for Noisepop and it was way too crowded. I used to work with one of the members. Fantastic show and I look forward to showing them to Dav.

[They will be playing at El Rio on June 4th. I will be there!]

Art show in the Mission

With Mieko-san. I'll get the name of the show later. Some stuff was sorta "hmmm" but I liked the rubber band jungle. What impressed me most was a guy meditating with leaches all over him. People could go right up to him. I've never seen such big leaches. I also met Jasmin, my hat-making teacher!

[The art show was "Faux Pause" at the balazo, 2183 Mission Street]

At Zeitgeist

Talking with Boris and John...I know both from Tokyo. We all miss Tokyo dearly and John even keeps a Tokyo subway card. I love it and totally understand. The pic shows only the subway...There is still the train system to overlap with that!

Foo Bar!

This Friday's Foo Bar was the most attended, probably due to the fact that the network had to be down at 5pm and there was a company-wide announcement: "The network will go down in 5 minutes; Foo Bar is officially open right now."

This week's special guests included Antoine from Paris, and Stella and Major. Special contributions: wine from France from Antoine, and matching cheese from Lilia.

Lots of laughter and observing of Stella and Major playing. Stella forgot how big she is, and Major thought he was big enough to handle her...until he tried hiding in his nap basket and she picked the whole thing up. ALL foo bar attendees were oo-ing and ah-ing over this. Too cute...

Pooka, Maile's daughter, joined the Foo Ball table, and Ezra offered the first coffee from the REAL coffee machine that just arrived (along with a shot of vodka if one pleased)Many photographers...and me taking pics of them!

Brasila - Alto Paraiso

Dav went to visit our good Campalicious friend, Colin, up in Brasilia. They went on a road trip so Dav had been offline for a bit and now he's back online! Yay! And he just uploaded some pretty magnificent pics to Flickr.

Stella loves Major

What happens when a bunch of fashionable females get together?

Clothing Swap! I attended, for the first time, a very amicable party which entailed eating an amazing spread of appetizers, bottles of wines, damn good company, and lots of happy experimentations with clothes. Let the pictures explain (although I was careful to be discreet under the circumstances)...

Many guests arrived and promtly took their shoes off (yay!). See the mounds of clothes ready for a new home? And more than enough bottles of wine to keep us happy.

After a little socializing, we all pretty much stripped down as needed to try on various fabulous attires. It certainly beats any store experience! Talk about personalized feedback!

But what was most rewarding was to see, in person, those who chose what I brought...items that I loved or were designer items that I just didn't wear but hesitated to donate away. Meeting the person who tried them on and smiled...well, that was beyond rewarding and I'm happy that my treasured but unused clothes found happy new homes. The following pics show a dress my mom gave to me and shoes I used once for a "costume."

Below is what I found in return. I'm more than happy! Even found a False Profit "Venture Communist" T-shirt for Dav

And leave it to danah to have friends who bring a goat cheese/garlic spread FRESH from a farm with happy goats! I am taking home the above tank-top I am wearing from danah.
Thank you, danah, for hosting this and taking the leftover mountains of clothes to those who need it.
