Mena unpacked the company's new Mars Attacks Martian Brain Disintegrator today. It has a "light-up throbbing brain." Just what we needed to make sure we all meet our project deadlines. Anil was the first to get zapped (willingly). All in a day at Six Apart...

Dav's car asked for a vacation from me, so it's at a car pampering place far from where I can touch it. I've thus been taking the train to work. On the way to work (such as now), I stop to get my favorite morning fix - delicious bunny juice. As the train takes us commuters through industrial south SF, I sip.
The first time I had this stuff was in Berkeley, when I was 8, while we moved from CT to Tokyo and were stuck there waiting for our visas. We had breakfast across from our motel at a healthy cafe that made fresh juice. We became such regulars that we were allowed to cook for ourselves.
Just typed that all on the phone...Must be the juice. Also just realized my sweater is covered in cat hair since I hugged them on my way out...

Did I tell you yet that Ian, my brother has been hired by the fabulous Six Apart, where I work? He starts in less than 2 weeks and today visited the office with his family (he's here looking for a new home.) I couldn't help myself; most pics are of Tyler (5) and Julia (2). They are _SO_ cute! I did get one pic (last one)[actually, it's the 4th one...] of Ian talking to anil. Welcome to Ian, Izumi, Tyler and Julia!

Just Anil, Ginevra and Monkey at the office today.
Actually, this was a test posting since Anil and I use T-Mobile, and Anil found that his moblog picture postings now come along with a whole html file full of T-Mobile advertising garbage. Shame on them for interrupting our fun. Luckily, my pics don't allow T-Mobile's gimmick to work, thanks to the superior uploading system Dav set up for me. Once again, Yay to my sweet Dav!!

Dav's grandmother turned 84!
and we're celebrating at his
uncle's house in Petaluma. Many
people and lots of babies. We even
did a baby crawl race which
rapidly turned into mayhem.
Big families are special - lots
of laughter, sharing, and
love :)

Dav's bio sister, Colleen, is a hairdresser and owns a very nice salon. Today we went to get our hair done [down?]. I got a trim and [some highlights], but Dave got 10 inches cut off. He looks *so* good! We wanted blue highlights for him, but they didn't come out, so he'll go back. But we both feel like new :)

Please welcome Tara-chan, my new pet rabbit. He's limited to the side bar for now, so no petting unfortunately, but he will talk. He will read my posts and give me feed back and has promised to post, on Kokochi, once every 2 weeks. He speaks only Japanese for now though.
The name Tara comes from the famous old-school Japanese cartoon series, Sazae-san. I grew up with this comical family. And my cats, Wakame and Katsuo, are named after 2 characters. The youngest of the family is Tara. And I always thought that if I get another cat, he would be named Tara. Well, I don't think that's going to happen, so my new digital bunny gets to be Tara.

...when we visited, on the way back from the winery, a wildly silly gardening center that had the most extensive collection of garden figurines. We spent a good 20 minutes roaming around, taking pictures, and wondering who buys these sort of things.

Immediately after the 24 hour Project Blog, I started a very busy 3 day schedule for work. We had our Japanese partnership counterparts visit to discuss - what else, but - blogging! We set up a pretty packed schedule of meetings and lots of super yummy meals. I managed to land a fun role in all of this: in addition to hearing about cool ideas, I got to take our Japanese partners to a winery hosting a cheese and flower tasting with gorgeous wines, hang out at the ocean, eat at the famous Slanted Door and Asia de Cuba (and if you don't believe I love eating, check
this out. Talk about eyeing food...). I also yapped as much as I wanted about blogging since we all are blog-crazy. I got to know some very prominent leaders in the Japanese blogging space.
I absolutely love the picture of Kiyota-san and me in the huge chair (lobby of the Clift Hotel). Felt like a 5 year old...I wanted to be mischievous...
