We spotted some local art by kids...Some good messages, if I may say so...yay for Bernal Heights!

In preperation for my 24 hour moblogging blitz, I asked my fabulous friend
Paul to take over one hour (2 posts). I thought that would be cool, as he lives in Tokyo and can give you some nifty shots, and I'd get to cat nap for 60 minutes. I'm no longer 21 and staying up for 24 hours is daunting. Here is a test shot. Yay!
Yes, that is THE Tokyo Tower in the background. Excellent shot. You won't be disapointed by Paul. He has a designer and artist's eye. (Not to pressure you, Paul, but your site does speak for itself.)

Hi everyone,
Regarding the crazy blogging I'll be doing this Saturday, Sean kindly pointed out that making donations can be easy: the Best Friends Animal Santuary accepts credit card donations.
I rarely blatantly ask for such, but I truly would be thrilled and touched if you could donate to the cause! You can sign up here and look up me or my site.
Mucho arigato!

Lunch at
Parkside, then a trial set-up of our new humungous tent for Burning Man. Last year, Dav and I shared a cozy tent to sleep in, and had another small one for our stuff. This year, my gosh, we'll have a walk-in closet! I'm now thinking of getting a small table so we can invite friends inside for an afternoon drink! It's huge!

I had a very nice Japanese lunch with my mom. Although my trip was short, it was really nice to be able to see mom and dad!

As most of you know, Enoki is my second home in Tokyo (
6 entries on my old Tokyo Tidbits site). This time was special, however, since I got to be there with my brother
Ian and his wife Izumi. The last time us 3 were at Enoki together, Izumi was pregnant with Tyler who is 5 now. She was so pregnant that Tyler was born the next day! And believe it or not, by chance, there was a woman there who had been there that night 5 years ago. That's the magic of Enoki. You always meet someone memorable.

I had so little time in Tokyo that I didn't let anyone know I was coming. But when I had an evening open, I got to have dinner with good friends
Gen,
Paul, and Joy.
Last time I saw Gen and Paul, I had my old phone. I had been wanting to introduce Joy (my high school friend who usually lives in S.F.) to Gen, but before I could do so, they already managed to meet each other on their own. Tokyo is strange like that; it's so big yet it's easy to bump into people you know through mutual friends. Circles overlap and collide all the time.
We went to a swanky eating/drinking place and of course all the dishes were just beautiful. So good to be able meet up with friends and hang out like I'd never left. Thanks for coming out on short notice!

Jet lag really hit me hard this time and I'm finally getting around to posting my Tokyo cellphone pics. Not being able to upload immediately takes the specialness out of it, but still, I enjoyed taking the pictures imagining I'd show them to you later :)
I stayed with my parents this time and these are pics of my commute into work at Tameikesanno. The first pic is of a little monster fellow my parents have just outside the front door. Then I took a bus to the station, then a train ride, then a short walk to a rather funky building in which Six Apart's office is located.

I had a very focused 3 days of work in Tokyo and am back home. Never had time to really kick my jet lag and now I'm sorta in between time zones. Let's see what time I wake up and get sleepy.
I have a few more pics on my phone, but I'll upload them later. Now, I just need to lie down with my kitties.
Dav will be home tomorrow. Yay!
